  • Remote, hands-on consulting

We offer remote hands-on consulting services since we have a strong expertise with IT and Open Source, e.g. Puppet and Drupal. Working remotely allows us to log into your systems and help implement specific solutions for your IT management challenges from anywhere, which helps to keep costs low for you as we do not have to be onsite.

We have previously done conversions from a non-puppet to Puppet environment, set up new environments from scratch and also, provide customers with expert help, advice and support. At OlinData, it is important for us to not just tell you how to do something, but to help you implement as well, all of which we do remotely.

  • Proactive Service Offerings

So that you get optimal service, we offer proactive consulting services . This means that we will determine, together with you, what is most needed for your environment, namely the right amount of hours for your budget and server park size.

We will work with your engineers to design the most suitable Puppet environment for your infrastructure, ensuring the maximum amount of benefit for you as a customer.

  • Open Source Puppet modules

We have an extensive array of Open Source Puppet modules that we use to make our everyday Puppet work more streamlined, keep quality up and make our lives easier. All of these modules have been developed with the idea of using it in multiple environments (and most of them are indeed being used in production in more than one environment), so it is very easy for us to reuse and adapt them for your environment.

Monthly Contracts

Monthly contracts help us to plan our resources more efficiently, which subsequently enable us to offer lower and more valuable prices to you.

A Puppet repository is an ever changing thing, as the servers managed by Puppet are often undergoing changes as well. Therefore, it follows that our work is never 100% done, which is why we prefer to work with monthly contracts to ensure that you have ongoing care for your Puppet environment.

  • Number of hours in a month

The number of hours in a contract is based on an average. That means in any given month, we can spend 50% more or 50% less hours then contracted, which will be made up for in the month following.

For example: you have an 8 hour monthly contract. If only 5 out of 8 contracted hours are spent in February, that means there will be 8 (normal contract) + 3 (carried over from February) hours available for March.

Similarly, if a big event in February causes 11 hours to be spent, that can be made up for in March by doing only 5 hours. This way, your cost stays predictable (as in both the examples you would pay the normal 800EU per month), and we can provide you with lower cost labour because we can plan for a more stable income.

  • What if all the hours in a month are used up?

We will certainly notify you when all the hours of the month are used up. There will then be the option of having extra hours billed at an additional cost, or taking hours from the next month as stated. OlinData will only proceed with additional work after written approval from you in order to not incur unwanted costs.

  • Discounts

Yes, we certainly do have discounts available for you. As the minimum contract for any consulting package is 6 months, we offer an additional 7% discount for quarterly instalments and a 12% discount for annual (yearly) instalments.

  • Emergency Support

As we value our lives outside of OlinData very much, we do not provide emergency support. All support is based on the next business day (in your timezone). However, if an OlinData engineer is available at the moment of emergency, support will certainly be provided instantly. This means that we have no obligation to get out of bed at 3am, but if we happen to be available, we’ll jump right in to help you solve any problem.

On the other hand though, if you do not have a contract with us, you are entitled to a once-in-a-lifetime emergency request; but we won’t help you after that without first setting up a monthly contract.
